Following residency, Dr. Shrivastava practiced outpatient general internal medicine at Cornerstone Family Healthcare for 4 years and then completed a General Internal Medicine Fellowship at Northwell Health, where she also earned a Master of Science in Health Professions Education from Hofstra University.

Following fellowship, she became a Menopause Society Certified Provider and she was appointed as core faculty of Hofstra/Northwell's Internal Residency Program and the Director of Women's Health Education. Within this role, she has created a Women's Health Clinic for Internal Medicine residents and instituted several innovative curricula to improve gender-specific care for medical student, residents and fellows.  Since February 2024, she has served as one of Northwell's Associate Program Directors and Resident Clinic Site Director.
