The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that the Stony Brook cardio-oncology program is the first in our region to be awarded an IC-OS Gold Medal, and the program is recognized as an IC-OS Center of Excellence by the International Cardio-Oncology Society.
Stony Brook is the only program in our region to have IC-OS-certified cardio-oncologists, and the gold medal designation is based on a commitment to multidisciplinary patient care, research and publications relevant to cardio-oncology, educational program, quality improvement, program building and cardio-oncology committee involvement.
We thank and congratulate Dr. Michelle Bloom (division of cardiology), Dr. Lea Baer and Dr. Alison Stopeck (division of hematology oncology.)
