What is the New York Ultrasound Olympics for Medical Students? On Saturday, February 10th, this inaugural "Zonoslam" competition hosted sixteen teams from four different medical schools (including our own Renaissance School of Medicine) for a half-day event that included image acquisition and interpretation skills, physics and artifacts knowledge, anatomy and pathophysiology, and more. Teams competed through a series of ultrasound challenges that tested both conceptual and hands-on skills.
The RSOM team - Ahmad’s Attenuators, coined for Dr. Sahar Ahmad, Chief, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, lived up to its name and attenuated the competition, emerging as the inaugural champions of the 2024 NY Ultrasound Olympics, hosted by Zucker SOM at Hofstra.
Congratulations to the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University team: Ben Krauss, captain Shabnam Parsa, Harry Kuperstein and Jon Aminov.
