| July | Professor Patrick Hearing has been selected to serve a four-year term on the Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Hearing will bring his expertise in the design of viral vectors for human gene therapy to the RAC. |
| April | Professor Eckard Wimmer is the recipient of the 2014 Loeffler-Frosch Medal. This award is named for the pioneering virologists who discovered the causative agent of foot-and-mouth disease, Friedrch Loeffler and Paul Frosch, and has been given to Dr. Wimmer by the German Society for Virology in recognition of his distinguished career in the field of virology. |
