Professor Eckard Wimmer is the recipient of the 2014 Loeffler-Frosch Medal. This award is named for the pioneering virologists who discovered the causative agent of foot-and-mouth disease, Friedrch Loeffler and Paul Frosch, and has been given to Dr. Wimmer by the German Society for Virology in recognition of his distinguished career in the field of virology. |
