Brain and neurological disorders are the third-leading cause of death among Suffolk County residents and a leading cause of adult disability. Fortunately, Stony Brook University Department of Neurology is the regional leader in the diagnosis and treatment of a full range of brain and neurological disorders in adults and children. Neurology faculty work as an interdisciplinary team with physicians and other professionals from Neurological Surgery, Psychiatry, Psychology, Emergency Medicine, Oncology, Radiology, Health Management, and Social Welfare to provide comprehensive care in the following Clinical Sections:
