Appointment and Promotion

Appointments to the graduate training program in Obstetrics and Gynecology are made annually for the academic year beginning July 1st and ending June 30th.  Appointments at the first year level (PGY-1) carry the assurance of annual reappointment in the progressive program provided that performance and development have been satisfactory.

Salary

Annual salaries as for the 2025-26 Academic Year:

Stony Brook Medicine 

PGY1:  $77,008

PGY2:  $81,881        

PGY3:  $86,337          

PGY4:  $90,796

*Salary includes $2,500 resident stipend and a $4000 (25-26) location stipend.   Salary is subject to any changes as may be contractually negotiated.
