General Surgery Residency Conferences and Rounds
Formal didactic instruction includes department-wide, as well as rotation-specific, surgical conferences and teaching rounds. In addition to traditional surgical education conferences (i.e., Morbidity & Mortality), there are many valuable and informative medical and multi-disciplinary teaching conferences held each week at the medical center, school of medicine and Stony Brook University, itself.
Virtual platforms are utilized to simultaneously provide some of the essential instructional content (Grand Rounds and non-simulation Wednesday morning didactics) to residents rotating at affiliate sites (Stony Brook Southampton).
