Dr. Azim Appointed Medical Director for ELIH
Sergio Bergese, MD, CBA, FASA Dr. Syed Azim, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, has been appointed Medical Director for Eastern Long Island Hospital. Dr. Azim has been an Attending at Stony Brook since 1997, after graduating from our Residency Program. Arrivals and Departures
We welcome two new members of the departmental staff. Ms. Shayna Collins joins us as Assistant to the Chair. Shayna previously worked in the Department of Surgery. Ms. Celeste Radgowski is our new Senior Grants Manager. Celeste had been a Grants Administrator for The Research Foundation of SUNY at Stony Brook since 2009. We sadly bid a fond farewell to Ms. Marisa Barone-Citrano. Marisa had been the Assistant to the Chair for Dr. T.J. Gan. She has decided to continue working for Dr. Gan and has joined him in Houston, TX at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. We wish Marisa the very best in her new environment and position! She is already missed by us! |
Alumni Corner
Christopher Gallagher, MD Looks like lots of good stuff going on at Stony Brook. (And here I thought you'd fall apart in my absence, sigh.) Hurricane Ian hit the coast nibbling at Cat 5 status and proceeded to roll right over us, the eye passing over the left side of our kitchen sink. Survival at this point seemed dubious, so I fortified with healthy snacks (Oreos, Twinkies, Circus Peanuts) and hepato-friendly spirituous liquors. Who wants to meet their maker sober and svelte, after all? Against all odds, I emerged from the rubble - well, OK, one seat cushion fell off a chair on our back porch, but I digress - intact, though my blood sugar was equivalent to Karo syrup and my liver edge stretched down to my patella. Greetings to all from the set of "Survivor: FloriDUH"! Yours in sloth and indolence (ie, retirement) Chris Gallagher MD LOL IHOP IUD IMHO S&P500 WTF TTFN |
