Dr. Kaczocha received his PhD in 2009 from Stony Brook University. During his PhD training, Dr. Kaczocha discovered that fatty acid binding proteins (FABPs) serve as intracellular carriers for endocannabinoids, endogenous ligands for cannabinoid receptors. Subsequently, he demonstrated that FABPs serve as important modulators of endocannabinoid signaling in vivo and demonstrated that FABP inhibition produces analgesia. Dr. Kaczocha’s research interests are in the general areas of pain and lipid signaling.
